  Our Sunday lunch visit on 26 Feb'17 was our first @ the Blackbird since the pub had received its fairly recent makeover.
  We were so looking forward to the experience.
  However and despite being tried to be placated by a complimentary bottle of wine, we came away from the occasion, most disappointed.
  Our waitress took our menu order shortly after our arrival, @ our dining table.
  We sat the best part of a further hour before any food arrived.
  When it did, the roast beef was so grisly that it was partly inedible.
  Management was informed on both these issues.
  The excuse for the undue delay was apparently because of some large party not arriving until well after their appointed booking so compounding the undue service delay?
  Short staff was probably nearer the truth?
  No one ever appeared to apologise/explain the tough meat issue.
  Sorry, but we'll not be back in a hurry.
